General Conference was awesome. Maybe it's just a mission thing, but it feels like the end is near. haha. I really loved President Nelson's remarks (his prophecy about personal revelation being an anchor) and Elder Cook's talk. Elder Cook just seemed to cover a wide range of topics, but he did so very well.
In between conference sessions on Sunday, we were worried that we wouldn't get lunch because we had a meeting with the stake leaders. After the meeting, we walked outside and found a bunch of islanders having a feed. We ate our fill of Samoan food and relaxed in the shade. Definitely one of my favorite ways to enjoy conference.
We got to hear Elder R. Scott Runia get released in General Conference (So he can be our mission president!)
Question and Answer:
Q: Have you had any disappointments or rejections lately? How do you cope with it?
A: Yes. We had two investigators that told us they were coming to conference, told us they were getting ready, told us they were leaving the house, (didn't come), told us they would make the next session, (didn't come), and then didn't answer texts. I'm still working on patience, but it gets frustrating when it happens all the time. Elder Smith and I have realized that we want to start saying "no" more often. It is so much nicer when people will tell you no as opposed to being flaky.
Q: If you had 1 hour of our time a week, how would you want it to be spent?
A: Go to the temple. This conference made me feel guilty that I haven't been able to go in so long, but that's part of the calling. Elder Smith and I are going to try to get a zone temple trip this transfer, though.
