Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree- June 17, 2018

So in my current area, there's two small towns way out in the boonies (Maianbar and Bundeena) The members out there never get visited, so Elder Smith and I decided that we would schedule a day to make the trip out to both of them. The only thing was, that although the towns are really close together, they are separated by a small creek that runs between them. The only bridge across is quite a distance away, which would use up valuable k's. Luckily for us, there is a small footpath that connects the two, but you have to go on a .5 mile nature hike. Life is rough here in Australia.

So most of the pictures today are from said nature hike. Everyone gave us weird looks because we were in proselyting gear, but we've gotten used to those. While we were trekking through the outback, we were able to get really really close to a kookaburra.

In terms of the missionary work here, Katrina is working towards her baptism on Friday. She has been really stressed out about everything (her family and friends have been feeding her anti-mormon stuff). We went over last night and shared a lesson that was largely directed by the spirit. Unknown to us, she had a large, looming concern that she hadn't shared with us. Guided by the spirit, we answered her question perfectly without knowing about it. She told us after, and when we left, she said she was much more comfortable moving forward to her baptism.

In other news, the mission office is closing down this week, which is sad news for us. All of the senior couples are moving up to Carlingford (the north mission offices) this is saddening because the offices up there are much more secure, meaning our interactions with the senior couples will be limited. We've all grown to love them so much that it will be hard to transition.

We still haven't got our phones, so we're looking forward to that and to the merge/new president come July 1.

That's about all from Australia,
